Asheville – Alma Snooks Buckner, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at the Mountain Area Hospice, Solace Center.
Snooks was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Laura Vanover; sisters, Eloise Miller, Georgia Rhyne, Mary Penley; and her brother, Paul Vanover. Snooks was a faithful member and industrious worker at Reed Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Odell Buckner; daughters, Nancy Sevier and husband, Bill, and Jana Gallagher and husband, Jim; four grandchildren, Amber, Brent, Mark and Christy; and one greatgrandchild, Emma.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home, and 30 minutes prior to the service on Thursday.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Reed Memorial Baptist Church with the. Revs. Luther Osment and Randy Melton officiating. Burial in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
Memorials can be made to the Mountain Area Hospice or Reed Memorial Baptist Church.
