A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Jeter and Lela Mae Buckner, he was a U.S. Army Reserves Veteran, a former employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Ed Buckner of Ohio, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, McKinley “Mac” Buckner, Kermit Buckner and Ralph Buckner and two sisters, Gladys Stokes and Zelma Painter.
