He retired from DuPont after thirty-five years and was a United States Army veteran having served overseas.
He is survived by three children Tracy Mitchell and Clark Buckles (Jacinda) of Vienna, and Patricia "Patsy" Martin (Tim) of Mineral Wells; six grandchildren Douglas and James Mitchell, Jacqueline and William Buckles, and Kagen and Karlie Martin; six brothers and sisters Lewis Buckles (Delores) of Piney Flats, TN, Jewel Buchanan of Bristol, TN, Shirley Reedy (Lynn) of Bluff City, TN, Jim Buckles (Judy) of Bluff City, Jean Owens (Bob) of Bluff City, and Linda Uzzell (Don) of Alpharetta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Eleanore "Sudie" (Edens) Buckles, and a sister Verna Riffey.
Memorial services will be Saturday 1:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday.
