Birth: Aug. 6, 1933
Fremont County
Iowa, USA
Death: Mar. 18, 2013
Shasta County
California, USA

Dorothy Margaret Mincer was born August 6, 1933 in Hamburg, Iowa. On December 22, 2012, she was diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, in Redding, California. Following a rapid decline in her health, she succumbed to the disease on March 18, 2013, with her Husband, her eldest son, and only daughter at her side.

Margaret was preceded in death by her Father, Charles Edward Mincer, Sr.; Mother, Marcia Minerva (Forney) Mincer; two brothers, Ed Mincer and Dale Mincer, all of Hamburg, Iowa; sister, Lois (Mincer) Ursdevenicz of Omaha, Nebraska, and her youngest son, Barry Bryant of Anderson.

Margaret and Thomas Elmer Bryant, Jr. of Rock Port, Missouri, were married on May 27, 1951 at the Hamburg Church of Christ, in Hamburg, Iowa. After their wedding they lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, where Margaret was employed by a Wholesale Grocery and then at the Federal Reserve Bank in Omaha. In November of 1952, they relocated to La Habra, California where their four children; Jeffrey Dale, Thomas Daniel, Sandra Kay, and Barry Alan were all born. While living in Southern California, Margaret was a housewife, a mother, a PTA Official, a Church Worker and a baby sitter. No other career has a higher honor.

In May 1968, the family moved to Redding, California where the newfound rural atmosphere was a welcomed change. Besides being a partner in the new business, Bryant Automotive, Margaret immediately became involved with the local Church of Christ. For more than 35 years she especially enjoyed being a teacher and a counselor at the Sierra Bible Camp, in Canyon Dam, California. In recent years, Margaret had become a part of the Redding Inner Wheel of U.S.A. where she made many friends that she enjoyed immensely. Over the years, she also enjoyed gardening, camping, backpacking, downhill and cross-country skiing, and simply relaxing on the patio boat on Shasta Lake.

Margaret has certainly made her mark in this world, leaving eleven grandchildren: Nikki Bryant Alexander, Sara Bryant Polster, Gabriel Bryant, Thomas T. Bryant, Tammy Bryant Noel, Tim Bryant, Danice Cashin, Trella Cashin, Jesse Cashin, Hillary Jarrett Reed and Melanie Jarrett. As well as fifteen great-grandchildren: Jacob Alexander, Reed Alexander, Roy Alexander, Liam Bryant, Elliott Bryant, Ainsley Bryant, Gaelen Bryant, Hunter Noel, Hayden Noel, Hallie Noel, Hudson Noel, Caleb Polster, Abigail Polster, Genevieve Reed, and Garin Jarrett.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 13, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Redding Christian Fellowship on Victor Ave in Redding, California. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the ALS Center at UCSF, or Sierra Bible Camp.
