Lester Duncan Bryant (Duncan), 72, of 634½ S. Pleasant St. died Dec. 8, 1990 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Born July 9, 1918, in Cook County to Frank and Kate Duncan Bryant, he married Alice Bowman on May 2, 1942, in Princeton. She survives. Also surviving are one son, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Fay.
He was the bookkeeper and director of fiscal services at Perry Memorial Hospital from 1948 until retiring in 1979. He was treasurer and past president of the Princeton Rotary Club, where he also was a Paul Harris Fellow. He served as treasurer for the Matson Public Library board of trustees, In-Home Care Inc., Princeton Elementary School District 115 and the Princeton Park District. He was a member of the board of directors of the Bureau County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Bureau County Historical Society, Bureau County Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and Diabetes Fundraising. He was a former member of the Princeton Jaycees and the Hospital Financial Management Association. He received a 50-year medal from the Joslin Diabetes Foundation. He and his wife served as king and queen of the 1987 Homestead Festival in Princeton.
