David Bryant passed on Friday, September 11, 2009. He was 95.

A nearly 75-year-resident of West Palm Beach, Fla., he spent the last summer of his life at Foulk Manor South in Wilmington, DE.

He was born 1914 in High Springs, Fla., to Emma (Bynum) and Joseph Bryant. After moving to West Palm Beach, he worked at various jobs, but was eventually employed as a porter for 40 years at the First National Bank in Palm Beach until his retirement in 1984.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Bryant in 2005 and Thelma Bryant, the mother of his daughters. His daughter Hazel Griffin preceded him in death in November 2008. He was the last survivor of his seven siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter and son-in-law, Harriet and Wesley Memeger of Wilmington, DE; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a classmate, friend and relative Paula Gantz; and many other relatives and friends.

David was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Very much a loner, he enjoyed reading and quoting poetry. And if he had your attention, he loved to talk about growing up in the woods of High Springs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at A. Jerome Brown Funeral Home, 1560 NW 1st Avenue, High Springs with Rev. Eugene Gainey, Eulogist. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Arrangement Entrusted to A. Jerome Brown Funeral Home.
