IOWA PARK (Special) - Archie Bryant, 65, of Wichita Falls, a retired farmer and rancher, died Monday in a hospital at Temple, Tex.
Arrangements are under direction of Tanner-Aulds Funeral Home of Iowa Park.
Bryant was born Aug. 4, 1911, at Paducah, Tex. and was reared on the Hirschi farm on Red River in Wichita County. He moved to Iowa Park with his parents when he was 14.
Bryant attended Electra and Iowa Park high schools.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley city council and helped in the organization of that first government offices.
Bryant had been tax assessor for the City View Independent School District and was the operator of Sand Beach skate, swim and picnic facility. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. John Mullins of Farmersville, Tex.; a son, William James of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. McClure of Iowa Park and Mrs. Milford Pope of Wichita Falls; and six grandchildren.
