Prior to settling in Bell County, TX, the family lived for a time in GA and ARK.
Bryan attended the schools in Bell County and Waco Univ. He taught at Gatesville for a number years and was County Superintendent of Coryell County.
He studied Law in the office of J.J. Vardeman at Gatesville, where he was admitted to the Bar about 1888 and began his practice of law there.
He was appointed referee in bankruptcy for the Waco division in June 1910, and held the position for about 21 years.
On June 9, 1897, Bryan married Kate Bishop Roshall of MS in Waco.
He was a member of the Waco Bar Assn, Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club.
He died at his home in 1932.
