He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Josephine (nee Vander Schuur) Brunsink: beloved wife of 44 years, Mona Kay; daughter, Cherie Smith.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce Brunsink; children, Trixanne (Joseph) Hancock and Jeffrey Brunsink and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Brunsink; grandchildren, Gordon (Lindsay) Hancock, Holly (Paul) Squires, Curtis (Robin) Hancock, Hannah (Adam) Gulch, Zachary Brunsink, Laurel Brunsink, Meghanne Brunsink, Nicholas Brunsink, Lukas Brunsink; 8 great grandchildren plus one arriving in February.
His greatest love was his family. Jerry was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed collecting coins and antiques as well as traveling. Golfing was a large part of Jerry’s life. He started golfing at the age of 13. He along with his brother, Floyd and father, Jake built Grand Island Golf Ranch which they ran for 31 years. Later in life, golfing with his buddies at Diamond Springs became the highlight of each week for Jerry.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, June 20 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. Jerry’s family will greet relatives and friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church or Mel Trotter Ministries.
