Al, 80, of 321 N. Mill St., Celina, died at 2:36 a.m., at Mercer County Community Hospital.

He was born to Herman and Teresa (Timmerman) Bruns. On Oct. 23, 1948, he married Wilma Bertke, who lives in Celina.

Also surviving is a daughter, Cindy (Robert) Van Santvoord, Celina; and four grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Clarence and Werner Bruns; four sisters, Marcella Dorsten, Stella Wenning, Shirley Walton and Alvera Fink.

He served his country in the U.S. Army as a MP during WWII. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. He was a Lifetime member of the Celina V.F.W. Post #5713, Celina Eagles, and the Celina Senior Citizens. He was employed at Mersmans, Bordens, Sisters of the Precious Blood in Maria Stien and the last job he held was a greeter at Walmart in Celina.
