Mrs. Nora Shearer Passes Away
Mrs. Nora (Brucker) Shearer passed away at the Rensselaer hospital on Wednesday, January 12, 1955, about 11:30 P.M. following several weeks' hospitalization with a broken pelvis, suffered when she fell some time ago.
Born near Kentland, Mrs. Shearer spent her early life and young womanhood near Goodland.
For several years she was a teacher in the Newton County schools. In 1911 she was married to John I. Shearer of Remington, whose death occurred in 1937.
Mrs. Shearer was a member of the Presbyterian church of Remington.
Surviving are three sons, Robert B. Shearer, Remington; Max and Thane Shearer, both of Rensselaer and a daughter, Mrs. Betty Robinson of Brookston; five sisters, Mrs. Ella Siperly of Muskegon, Michigan; Mrs. Grace Weber of Goodland; Mrs. Leona Eller of Remington; Miss Martha Brucker of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Bernice Ludlow of Wingate, and one brother, Lyle Brucker of Indianapolis, also eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Howard Funeral Home Remington, at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday with Rev. Ward of Rensselaer officiating, assisted by Rev. F. Wallerman of Remington. Burial was in the Remington cemetery.
