Sylvester S. "Ves" Brubach, 75, well-known retired druggist, died Tuesday, September 22, 1959 at 2:30 p.m. at is home on South Main Street after a few months illness. Mr. Brubach had been a druggist in Woodsfield for the past 47 years, and re tired February 1 of this year, when the Brubach Drug Store was taken over by William Finnical.

A member of St. Sylvester's Catholic Church in Woodsfield, he was a member of the Holy Name society, the Maccabees at Zanesville, the Knights of Columbus at Caldwell, and the BPO elks Lodge at Sisterville.

Born March 16, 1884, a son of Jacob and Mary Nauer Brubach, he was first married to Ella Reich Brubach, who died in 1952. He was married to Marie McCormack in 1954, who survives, along with two brothers, Edward Brubach and Charles Brubach, both of Canton, and several nieces and nephews.

The body was returned to the family home Wednesday afternoon, where the Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. A Requiem High Mass will be sung at St. Sylvester's church on Friday at 10 a.m. (EDT), with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. G. Mehler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with the Brubach funeral home of Summerfield in charge of arrangements. (1959)
