Atkinson Funeral To Be Held Tuesday
Mrs. Hannah D. Atkinson, 79, 937 S. Monroe avenue, a resident of Green Bay for 45 years, passed away Saturday evening at a local hospital. She was born near Quebec, Canada, where she lived as a small child. Later, she moved to Michigan, and for many years ran a hat and dressmaking shop in Iron Mountain.
The deceased was a charter member of the Green Bay Catholic Woman's club and formerly was a member of the Woman's club of Green Bay.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Lucille Atkinson and Mrs. R. A. Gardiner, Green Bay, and one son, Dr. Henry Atkinson, Green Bay; and four grandchildren. She herself was the last of a family of 16 children.
The body is at the residence and will be brought to St. John's church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning where a requiem high mass will be said by the Revs. John Loerke, Alfred Schneider and William Kierman. Pallbearers will be Dr. R. B. Power, Dr. P. M. Clifford, Dr. T. F. Burdon, John L. Kitslaar, Philip Sheridan, and John Rode. Internment will be in Fort Howard cemetery.
The Bible class of the Catholic Woman's club and other members of the club are saying the rosary for Mrs. Atkinson at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the residence. Father Loerke will recite the rosay at 7:30 this evening. Coad's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
