Mr. Brown served in the United States Army during World War II, where he earned the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
Mr. Brown, age 96, made his home at 221 N. Main Street SW, Milledgeville, Georgia. He passed away on Monday, January 02, 2012 in a local hospital.
Survivors included: his daughter, Ms. Patricia Anne Brown Hicks of Milledgeville, GA; four grandchildren Ms. B. Lisette Hicks of Milledgeville, GA, Mr. Stanley Smith, JR of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Alicia M. Smith of Indianapolis, IN and Ms. Miriam E. Smith of Upper Marlboro, MD; five great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Brown Moses ( Willie) Of Atlanta, GA; son-in-law, Mr. Stanley Smith, Sr. of Indianapolis, IN; devoted niece and great niece. Ms. Gladys Grady, and Ms. Geraldine Brown Phelps ; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives.
