On April 14, 2014, Donna L. Brown, age 91, passed away surrounded by her family at Life Care Center in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born June 7, 1922 in St. John, Idaho to James Oscar and Sarah Peterson Larson and was the second oldest of four children.

She attended St. John's Elementary, Malad High School, and the three-year nursing school at the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

She married Jack Reed Brown on September 7, 1947 (later divorced). They had one daughter, Jill. In 1963, the Brown family moved from Ogden to Bountiful, where Donna resided until her death.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. Her favorites were the Nursery and serving as a Welfare Service Missionary in the Arizona Holbrook Mission in 1975-1976. She developed a great love for the Navajo people.

Donna worked as a Registered Nurse in Ogden, Utah and at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah for a total of eleven years.

In 1964, she organized a ladies literary club that still exists today. She also organized an LDS scripture study group that continued for a number of years. She wrote beautiful poetry and won an award of special recognition in the LDS church poetry contest in 2005.

Donna loved the out-of-doors, especially hiking and golfing; she even scored a hole-in-one at Oakridge Country Club. Her greatest loves, however, were Jill, Dave, her grandchildren, and her testimony of the gospel.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Jill (Dave) Tucker; three grandchildren, Krista, Kevin, and Kami; two brothers, J.O. Larson (California) and John (Edith) Larson (Cedar City, Utah); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ralph.

Funeral services will be held in the Oak Hills Ward Chapel, 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful, on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the services at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be held in the Lakeview Memorial Estates Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.
