BOUNTIFUL-Dr. Harold Jess Brown, 78, passed away January 15, 2003 in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born June 5, 1924 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Willard Harold and Esther Beulah Hight Brown. Married Norma Rae Long, on March 3, 1944 she died Nov. 15, 1984. Married Rosella Smart in 1987, she passed away in 1990. Married Josephine Galloway on Feb. 16, 1991. He served in the US Army in World War II. He was Lt. Commander with the United States Public Health Service.
Harold worked for the Salt Lake School District, U.N.E.S.C.O. in Kampala, Uganda. He was professor at Leslie College in Cambridge, MA. He was associated with Salt Lake Metropolitan Science Fair, Utah Science Teachers Assoc., American Chemical Society; American Association for the Advancement of Science and Phi Delta Kappa.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; three sons, Stan Jess, Jan Bliss and Dr. Dwight George (Janet) Brown; two step children, Jan (Layne) Black and Joy (Kelti) Galloway; seven grandchildren and three great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother and sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday January 21, 2003 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., where Friends may call Monday Jan. 20 from 6-8 p.m. and Tues. 9:45-10:45 am prior to Services.
Interment: Lakeview Memorial Estates.
