Burns Fatal To Elderly City Woman
Services will be held here 2 p.m. Wednesday for an elderly Anadarko woman who died Sunday about seven hours after being seriously burned in her home.
Mrs. Edna I. Brown, 75, of 107 W. Texas. died Sunday afternoon in the Anadarko Hospital after being burned Sunday morning when her robe caught on fire as she stood in front of a heater.
Services will be held in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Archie Klusmeyer, of Anadarko, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 24, 1891 in Guymon and lived in Minco and Cogar areas from 1930 to 1950, when she moved to Anadarko.
Her husband, John Brown, died in August.
Survivors include two sons, James S., of Anadarko, and Rufus L., of Brinkley, Ark.; five daughters, Mrs. Clara McKaughan, of Vasalia, Calif., Mrs. Zora Mason, of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Dora Rogers, of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Emma Bell Rogers, of Minco, and Mrs. Mary Jackson, of Coalgate; 40 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
