Former Rail Foreman To Be Buried Friday


Funeral services for Charles Henry Brown, aged 74, who died Sunday in a Wellington hospital, will be conducted at the Baptist church in Belle Plaine, Friday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Roy Pierce will officiate and burial will be in the Belle Plaine Cemetery.


Mr. Brown was born Feb. 12, 1875, in Caldwell county, Mo., the son of Abraham and Eliza Brown. He was married to Ella Moon May 24, 1911, at Wellington, and was formerly a Missouri Pacific railroad foreman. He was a member of the Baptist church.


Survivors are his wife, Ella, of Wellington; daughters, Mrs. Flossie Pierce, of Belle Plaine; Mrs. Opal Utt, Wichita; sister, Mrs. Maggie Rough, Martinez, Cal.; brothers, Jess, Quincy, Ill., Dick, Yuba City, Cal., and Lou, of Elk City, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews also survive. Hatfield mortuary of Belle Plain is in charge.
