She was bron Aug. 17, 1930, in Wapello County to Jesse and Myrtle Hoeffstetter Bivens. She married Charies E. Brown Sr. on Aug 22, 1953. He preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1982. She was a member of Midway Calvary Baptist Church and the Coffee Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Coyne of Ottumwa; two sons, David(Holley)Brown of Bloomfield; a stepdaughter, Kathy(Jack)Keeton of Hartford; a stepson, Charles(Shirley)Brown Jr. of Glen Burnie, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen Brown; two granddaughters; and a brother, Tom Bivens.
Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home; Pastor Harold Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Floris Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm Monday with the family present from 6-8 pm Monday. Memorials may be made to Midway Calvary Baptist Church or to the family.
