Mr. Cecil David Brown, - age 65, of LaFayette, GA, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his residence.

He was a member of New Home Baptist Church and retired from Walker County Road Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. Ivie Edward Brown and Mrs. Callie M. Brown.

Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Barbara Ann Womble Brown; daughters, Mrs. Brenda (Melvin) Hill, Ms. Teresa Suttles, all of LaFayette, GA; two sons, Mr. Ronald Careathers of Lafayette, GA and Mr. Lamar Careathers of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Ms. Patricia Allen of Atlanta, GA and Ms. Virginia Harris of Lafayette, GA; one brother, Mr. William Brown of Summerville, GA; four grandchildren, one great grandson; mother-in-law, Mrs. Julia Womble of Lafayette, GA; two special friends, Mr. Roosevelt Barkley and Mr. Anthony Smith; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dunwoody Road, LaFayette, GA, with Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor and Rev. William Stamper officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service.

Interment will be in the Marsh Memorial Gardens.
