Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Holt Funeral Home in Vandalia. The Rev. Ed Hampton will officiate. Burial will be at the Hays Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born Dec. 21, 1903, in Ralls County to Thomas and Nora Gwynn Brown
He was married to Mary Alice Inlow on Nov. 1, 1930, in Mexico. She preceded him in death May 31, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Brown of Seattle, Wash., and J. Brooks Brown of Yakima, Wash.; one daughter, Edna Ruth Gaw of Columbia; five grandchildren, Sarilyn Paschen, Brian Brown, Kirsten Brown, Mark Gaw and Craig Gaw; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson Brown, Ralph Brown and Mark Brown; and two sisters, Nettie Brown and Lena Brown.
Mr. Brown was a lifelong resident and a farmer in the Vandalia area. He was a member of the Spencer Creek Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Spencer Creek Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Paul Evans, Harold Fowler, Charles Livers, James Evans, Mark Gaw, Craig Gaw and Brian Brown.
