Mrs. Melba Newman Brown, age 74 of Villa Rica passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011 in Tanner Medical Center, Villa Rica.

Mrs. Brown was born October 20, 1937 in Cullman County, Alabama the daughter of the late Otis Franklin Newman and Annie Bell Bentley Newman She worked for The State of Georgia for several years in the Vocational rehabilitation Program and later as a self-employed bookkeeper. She was a Member of Concord Baptist Church and enjoyed attending when her health permitted.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Brown, step-son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Penny Brown, Newell, AL; sisters and brother-in-law, Pat and Clifford Holoman, Temple, Frauline Edge, Newnan, Ina Mae Lewis, Carrollton, Helen Brown, Braselton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition her to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen Bolden and brother, Fred Newman.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11 o'clock from J. Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Music will be provided by Brother Kelley McCord.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5 until 7

Interment will follow the service in Meadowbrooke Memory Gardens with Allan Holloman, Larry Gresham, Tony Long, Tommy King , Johnny Bolden, Henry Jackson and Kerry Smith serving as pallbearers

In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Tanner Hospice 101 Clinic Avenue, Carrollton, GA 30117
