Funeral services for George E. Brown, 79, of Coos Bay will be held Wednesday, March 12 at 1 p.m. in the Mills-Bryan-Sherwood Bay Area Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Day of the Coos Bay First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Mr. Brown was born Oct. 11, 1895 at West Linn and died Sunday, March 9 at Coos Bay. He retired after 25 years with the Scott Paper Co. Empire Division.
Mr. Brown was a Coos Bay resident since 1910 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War I.
He is survived by the widow, Anna Mae Brown; son, George L. Brown; grandchildren, Paul and Linda Brown, all of Coos Bay; and niece, Irene Forester of Beaverton.
