Alya Dean Sue "Deanie" Riddle Brown, age 83 passed away on October 16, 2014 at the Harriman Care and Rehab Center in Harriman. Alya was born on March 14, 1931 in Rockwood to Iva Lee Pelfry and James Thomas Riddle. Early, Ms. Brown lived in the Cardiff area and attended school in Pond Grove.

Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her Parents; Sister: Arvazene Riddle Pair; Brothers: George Ed Riddle, James Owen Riddle; Son: Richard Eugene Brown

Ms. Brown is survived by her Children: Donna Sue Brown Carter, Roland Jackson Brown, and Linda Gail Brown Vinson and Bill; 6 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ms. Brown was a member of Trenton Baptist Church in Harriman; she traveled to Nova Scotia to Columbia, South America, through all of the contiguous states and to Alaska on several occasions. She was an avid bird conservationist/birdwatcher and saw both the condor and whooping crane in the wild. Ms. Brown was an activist for senior citizens rights. Ms. Brown also won numerous medals while participating in the Senior Olympics, both at the District and State Levels.

If you wish to Honor Ms. Brown’s Memory, a donation to Alzheimer’s Tennessee would be wonderful. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Junior’s Restaurant on October 23, 2014. Private family graveside services are being held. Ms. Brown was a dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
