MURPHYSBORO - Ruby M. Brown, 94, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:16 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, in Herrin Hospital.
She has gone to be with her soul mate, who passed away 20 years ago on Oct. 11, 1989.
Alfred F. "Brownie" Brown was whom she gave all her love to and, after he died, she gave all her love to her great-nieces and her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, which include Sandra Loucks, Amber Pitchford, Elizabeth Block, Garett Worthen, Dawn Wisley, Bradley Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Josh Wisely, Rebecca Wisely, Laura Wilcox and Colten Wilcox.
Ruby was born March 6, 1915, in Murphysboro to John and Mattie (Redo) Reichratch.
She had worked as a sales clerk at Reutcher Brothers and Variety Stores in Murphysboro.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Chester Wisely officiating. Burial will be in Dillinger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at the funeral home.
