She was born August 20, 1923 in Rupert, Idaho to William Gee and Effie Purnell Brower.
She married Donald Thoresen Bringhurst on November 11, 1939 in Salt Lake City. They were married sixty-five years and had six children together: Ronald (deceased), Kay (Joe) Evans, Carol Bell, Dwight (deceased), Christine (Edward) VanDyke, and David. Veda had fifteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and twenty-three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Veda was a longtime resident of Magna. She worked for First Security Bank, Bank of Commerce, and Zions First National Bank. She was the first woman to become a bank manager in the state of Utah. She loved serving people.
Veda liked to golf, travel, read, and, most of all, she loved to visit with her children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy House for their love and service. Also, the love and many hours of service given by her children and grandchildren- her guardian angels.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, where friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the serviceservices on Thursday.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
