Harley Brooks, longtime businessman in Alliance and in Hemingford the past few years, died Friday in the Box Butte General Hospital. He was brought to the hospital by Hemingford Emergency Unit and died a few minutes after entering the hospital.
For many years he owned and operated the Brooks Repair Shop on West Third and the past few years he had been in the machinery repair business in Hemingford.
His wife Lola is a resident at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He also survived by a step-son , who lives in California, and a nephew, who lives in Iowa.
Funeral services are pending with the Bates-Landa Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
