Maude Wilson Brooks, 91, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Maude Wilson Brooks was born May 24, 1918, in Ponca City, Okla., to Joseph T Wilson and Naomi Garrison Wilson. She married Samuel Herbert Brooks on Dec. 23, 1940. They had two children, Sharon Kay and Gary Lee.
She lived most of her life in Kansas, moved to Oklahoma in 1960, and in 1996 to Amarillo. She was a resident of The Clairmont Retirement Home for seven years before moving to Georgia Manor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in December 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Kay Baker and husband Jerry of Amarillo; a son, Gary Lee Brooks and wife Ellen of Bedford; two grandchildren, Perri West and husband Glen of Guymon, Okla., and Heather Carlton and husband Ron of Happy; four great-grandchildren, Winston Kimball of Guymon, Jordan Kimball of Amarillo and Quincy Carlton and Quade Carlton of Happy; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to CityChurch, 205 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
