ALICE HOWELL BROOKS, 95, of Memphis died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at Allen Morgan Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Alice was a homemaker, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, and a member of Colonial Country Club where she was an avid golfer. She had traveled extensively in Europe and in Asia. She leaves her son, William Brooks; and her granddaughter, Lauren Poindexter, both of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Emalie Appleton Brooks Memorial Scholarship, c/o University of Memphis Foundation, 108 Alumni Center, Memphis, TN 38152-3750.
