A daughter of Charles and Hattie Ryan Cooney, she was born Oct. 12, 1913, at St. Paul, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from St. Francis High School. During World War II, she worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant at Parsons.
She and Lawrence E. "Bob" Brogan were married July 5, 1945, at St. Francis Catholic, Church in St. Paul. After their marriage, they moved to Wichita and lived there until returning to St. Paul in 1954. For several years they operated a grocery store and service station in Erie and St. Paul.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella, St. Puke's Circle 239.
Survivors include her husband, of the home: a son, Ron Brogan of Wichita: and two grand children.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral mass will be Thursday, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with Msgr. Vincent Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
