Mrs. Alma Carlson Broeder, 85, who had resided at 1300 Helena Flats Road, Kalispell, died Friday morning in Kalispell.
Mrs. Broeder was born April 17, 1892 in Oakes North Dakota, a daughter of Lars and Sofie Carlson. On November 8, 1915, she was married to Fred Broeder Sr at Fessenden, North Dakota. The couple homesteaded in eastern Montana and moved to the Flathead Valley in 1935 and have resided in the Helena Flats area since that time.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 2252, the Cootiette Club; the Helena Flats Sorosis Club; and the American Lutheran Faith.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lenhart and Rudolph Carlson and is now survived by her husband, Fred Sr. at the family home; two sons; Gordon and Fred Jr. both of Kailspell; two daughters, Mrs. Byron (Fern) Metcalf of Kalispell and Arlene Wellman in Apache Junction, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gust Carlson of Kalispell.
