Born in Girardville, she was a daughter of the late Edwardf K. and Mary (Lokitis) Davies.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the South Ward Fire Company, the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 137, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, all of Tamaqua.
Surviving are a son, Bruce Valentine, and his wife, Shirley, of Clarks Summit; a brother Reese in Kentucky; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Arthur W., who died in 2003; two sisters, Kathryn Lokitis and Jean Shopple; and seven brothers, Charles, Ed, Sam, Morgan, Samuel, Wilbert "Tiny" and Douglas.
