She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Porter Township, Clarion County, and was the daughter of Norman and Vernie (Young) Brocious.
She married Jack V. Stitt July 9, 1941, and he preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1983.
Twila was retired from Owen-Illinois in Clarion. She lived life to the fullest, loved traveling and cheering for the Pittsburgh sports teams. She was a member of the Hawthorn Presbyterian Church and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by five daughters, Judy Crawford and her husband, Sam, of New Bethlehem, Joy Downs and her husband, Darl, of Erie, Sandra Scales and her husband, Dallas, of Alexandria, Va., Joni Huffman and her husband, Rodney, of New Bethlehem, and Jeri Skinner and her husband, Jared, of Mayport; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; a daughter-in-law, Linda Stitt, of Fairmount City; one brother-in-law, Leonard Stitt and his wife, Eleanor, of Berea, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Muriel Stewart, of Shippenville, and Betty Brocious, of Worthington; and a dear friend, Robert Thomas, of New Bethlehem.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jack L. Stitt and James L. Stitt; two grandsons, David M. Stitt and Steven J. Stitt; nine brothers; and six sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Dottie Kunselman officiating. Interment will be in the Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank Township, Clarion County.
