Barbara Broadbent Bowers

Barbara B. Bowers, age 62, was called home November 12, 2000 after a valiant battle with cancer. Her enduring courage and positive attitude inspired all who knew her.

She was born March 29, 1938 in Nephi, UT the daughter of Leon M. and Norma Taylor Broadbent.

She married Donald L. Hall Nov 18, 1954; they later divorced. She later married Karl J. Bowers April 7, 1964, who preceded her in death.

Barbara had many interests and hobbies. She loved gardening, golfing, bowling, water skiing, camping, and "making things look nice." She loved animals. She put heart and soul into her career as a drug and alcohol recovery counselor and always went out of her way to help others who were in need. She loved her family, and adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Rick (Julie) Hall, Pleasant Grove, Kevin (Sherry) Hall, Sandy; brother, Robert (Shirley) Broadbent, Taylorsville; sister, Susan (Duayne) Weiler, Benecia, CA; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service and viewing will be held for family and friends Tuesday Nov 14, 9:45 AM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1441 W. Tamarack Rd (Taylorsville, off Redwood Rd at about 4400 S turn E on Conifer Way, then right on Beechwood Rd., then L) followed by Worship Services at 11 a.m. conducted by Pastor Michael J. Quandt. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice for Utah for their care and kindness and have requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice for Utah, at 293 E. Stonebridge Dr., Draper, UT 84020.
