BAKER.--Mrs. Rebecca Baker, daughter of Rev. Daniel and Sarah H. Bristol, died in Carlton, Orleans County, New York, Dec. 15, 1854, aged 64 years. Sister B. was more than an ordinary woman and Christian. Her children rise up and call her "blessed," by desiring me to say _______. "She was one of the most excellent and affectionate of mothers." This widow devoted many long years to the support, education and religious training of her fatherless children. In this group was one greatly afflicted. The mother desired of the Lord length of days to be devoted to the care of the sufferer. In this she was heard, and from the time the invalid was laid in the grave, Sister B. began to decline---(God answers prayer)--and after having walked in close fellowship with God and the Methodist Episcopal Church for nearly half a century, she has entered into rest.
