Mrs. Sarah Bittenbender, wife of the late Major Jacob Bittenbender, died at her home near Curllsville last Monday, October 3, 1904 at about 2 o'clock a.m. at the age of about 76 years. The deceased was a daughter of the late John Brinker and sister of the Hon. Christ Brinker. She is the last of the family of John Brinker, the last remaining member of her family, her sister Mrs. Jonathan Coleman having passed away just 9 days previous to her death. Mrs. Bittenbender is survived by the following children: George, John of Kane; Mr. W.P. Henry of Piollet, and Mrs. Elmer Longwell at home. She was long a devout and faithful Christian holding her membership in the Reformed Church. The funeral was held Wednesday morning the services being conducted in the Reformed church at Churchville by Rev. Waugaman of Rimersburg, the interment being made at the same place.
