Elizabeth G. Angier, 89, of 861 Mitchell's Lane, Middletown, RI, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rupert L. Angier. She was born in Newton, MA. on December 23, 1917 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Morrisey) Brine.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Bridgewater State Teacher's College, and was a teacher for the Newport and Middletown School system for 12 years. In 1976, she started PALM, Parents and Adoptees Liberation Movement, of Rhode Island, which helped many parents and adopted children locate each other. She was also a VISTA volunteer. She was a member of the Edward King House and the Middletown Senior Center. Elizabeth was a parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Middletown.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen L. Angier and her companion Michael Borden of Tiverton, RI., and Susan G. Angier of Middletown, and her granddaughter Selene Angier of Cambridge, MA.

She was the sister of the late Constance Jordan, Donald and Richard Brine.

A funeral service will take place Friday, July 13, 2007, at 10:00 am in the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St. Newport, RI. 02840. Burial at Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth. Visiting hours are Thursday, July 12, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the funeral home.
