Mr. Jerry L. Brimberry age 75 of Lilburn, GA, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Brimberry; children, Lisa Touch and husband Ralph of Lilburn, GA; Darrell and wife Alicia Brimberry of Washington, D.C.; Kari and husband Jeff Phillips of Pearland, TX; and Christopher Brimberry and wife Ashley Pier of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; grandchildren, Shane and Spencer Touch, Patrick and Holly Brimberry, Ryan and Kyle Penn, and Claire Phillips; great-grandchild, Emma Penn; and sisters, Virginia Shine of Houston, TX, and Alice Colburn of Phoenix, AZ.
Jerry was retired from the CDC after 30 years of service where he worked to eradicate AIDS, TB, Diabetes and other infectious diseases. After retirement he taught high school Economics and U.S. History for 10 years at Central Gwinnett High School. He was active in the community and in local politics and a member of the S.C.V.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Brimberry will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville, GA, with The Very Reverend Henry S. Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, TX. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warrior Project.
