"Mrs. Cummins and her brother pointed out the northwest corner of the junction of Wornall Road and One Hundred Third Street, once occupied by a log house in which William Bridger, son of Jim Bridger, lived. . . Reference is made in the DAR book, "Vital Historical Records," to the Bridger graves. Mrs. M. A. Christopher, regent of the Kansas City chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1934, when the chapter published a book on the records of the old Jackson County cemeteries, saw the old James Bridger marker, and those of his two sons, William and Felix Bridger, chained to a stone wall at the farm home of Mrs. Harriett Forsythe, near the original Watts cemetery, in 1934. . . . Mrs. Christopher, whose mother was a member of the pioneer Gill family, believes Mrs. Cummins and Mr. Watts (#95626815) are the only persons now living in this part of the country whose memories are reliable as to facts about Bridger. Mrs. Christopher says the bodies of Felix and William Bridger, the explorer's sons, never have been moved from the old burial ground."
