GLENNVILLE -- Foch Brewton, 82, died Jan. 23 at home.

The Tattnall County native was a member of Beard's Creek Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

He served as a Tattnall County commissioner for 20 years and three months, including nine years as chairman, and was a former Glennville city councilman.

He was a farmer and the owner and operator of Brewton Pecan Co. and was associated with Young Pecan Co. of Florence, S.C.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Maridean B. Brewton of Glennville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry McLeod and Sandra and Delbert Bland, all of Glennville; a son, and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sheila Brewton of Glennville; a sister, Zelma Keels of Glennville; a brother, Marcus Brewton of Glennville; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Beard's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, burial in Beard's Creek Church Cemetery.
