Leona Becker of Potosi, Missouri was born Friday, December 8, 1916 in Annapolis, Missouri a daughter of the late Virginia (Lucy) Brewer and John W. Brewer. Leona departed this life Sunday, July 11, 2004 at the Potosi Manor Care Center, Potosi, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Leona was united in marriage to the late Sidney Becker on October 15, 1953.

Leona is survived by her loving and devoted sisters, Opal Shoults of Potosi, Missouri, Jetty Benson of Potosi, Missouri and Hazel Rand and husband Charles of Potosi, Missouri; Two Sisters-in-law, Gracie Brewer of Annapolis, Missouri and Charlotte Brewer of Annapolis, Missouri and by many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many dear and special friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Leona was also preceded in death by Five brothers, Odis Brewer, Bill Brewer, Jim Brewer, Winford Brewer and Roland Brewer.

Leona had a great love for her sisters and family.

She looked forward to the time she could spend with them.

She loved going out with her sisters shopping and to Southfork Restaurant almost on a daily basis. Going Home... Birds in Flight symbolize the end of the Christian life.

One bird is shown leaving the flock and "going home" to his final reward.

The three remaining birds continue their journey through life with peace of mind, knowing their lost loved one is now in God's hands.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 13, 2004, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, July 14, 2004, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Clarence Casteel officiating.

Musical selections played were "Amazing Grace", "He Hideth My Soul" and "Precious Memories".

Final prayers and Burial was held Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at 1:00 PM at the Lewis Cemetery, Annapolis, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were David Benson, Jeff Benson, R.P. Coleman, Pat DeClue, Kevin Lurkins, and Vernon Marler.

Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
