PHEBA - Walker Gene Brewer, 69, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born June 24, 1937, in Clay County to Imogene Millsaps Brewer and Walker Green Brewer. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He married Mae Wright Brewer on May 15, 1974, in Meridian.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Bro. Johnny Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery at Pheba.

Survivors include his wife, Mae W. Brewer of Pheba; three daughters, Melanie McDonald (Eddy) of Cedar Bluff, Alicia Caldwell (Tim) of Pheba and Rebecca Hallford (Steve) of Wilsonville, Ala.; one son, Mitch Brewer of Olive Branch; seven grandchildren, Ashly and Carly McDonald, Corey and Cameron Ott, Jason Parker, Walker Green Brewer and Elizabeth Stagner; two sisters, Jamie Brewer Epting (Luther) and Donna Brewer Bryan (Dickie) of West Point.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Mize, James Holloway, David Smith, Wayne Harpole, Ray Brantley, Greg Wright, Bill Cox and Tim Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Sizemore, Tannie Sullivan, Robert Hawkins, James Patterson, Terry Ott, Mark Jones, Luther Millsaps, Willie Taylor Jr., David Winfield, Laddie Huffman and members of the Mississippi Skeet Shooters Association.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1800 W. Main St., Suite 1, Tupelo, MS 38801; or a charity of the donor's choice.
