George D. "Dukie" Brenner, age 86, died on June 19 at Golden Living Center after a brief illness. He was born in Plymouth on October 28 , 1925. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during WWII where he crossed the equator seven times during his service to our country. George was the owner and operator of Duke Sign Company from l949 until his retirement, when his son, Greg, took over the family business; now known as Brenner Signs & Awnings. He was a former member of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club, the Cold Spring Club and a 30-year member of the Plymouth Country Club. He won the Withington Cup Tournament at the age of 65. He enjoyed painting with watercolors as well as oil and was an extremely gifted artist. The beloved husband of Pauline (Botieri) Brenner; He was the brother of the late Charles Brenner of Canton. He also leaves 2 sister-in-laws, Gloria Longhi of Plymouth and Norma Brenner of Mashpee. He was the beloved Dad of Kathleen A. (Brenner) Scribi and her husband Vincent of Duxbury and Gregory Brenner and his wife Susan of Plymouth. He was the grandfather of his two precious grandchildren, Jillian Scribi and Travis Brenner. Funeral Service on Friday June 22 at 11:30 a.m. in the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth. Visiting hours from 10 am till 11:30 a.m. prior to service. Burial in the MA. National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial Donations may be made to the Nathan Hale Foundation, 6 Main Street Ext. , Plymouth, MA. 02360.
