Omer C. Brenenstuhl TOWN OF HOOSICK

Omer C. Brenenstuhl, 83, a lifelong resident of Potter Hill, died peacefully, Monday, October 5, 2015 after being stricken at his residence. Born in Bennington, VT, February 10, 1932, Omer was the son of the late Elmer and Anna (Brundige) Brenenstuhl and for over 58 years the husband of Marion (Lasher) Brenenstuhl of Potter Hill who survives. Omer and Marion were married on April 27, 1957. Mr. Brenenstuhl attended the former Potter Hill District School and the former Walter Wood High School in Hoosick Falls Omer began working the family farm as a teenager and beginning in 1969 was also employed as a bus driver by the Hoosick Falls Central School District. After more than 32 years of service he retired from the district in 2001. He then accepted a position as a driver by the Yankee Trails Bus Company in Rensselaer working for over 8 years and for several more years as a delivery driver for the Upsy Daisy Florist in Hoosick Falls until the age of 80 when he once again retired in 2012. In his spare time, Omer belonged to many groups and organizations including being a 64 year member and Past Master of the Hoosick Grange #1127, a member and Past Master of the Rensselaer County Pamona Grange, member and Past Director of Rensselaer County Farm Bureau, the past Chairman and member for 33 years of the Rensselaer County Tomhannock Reservoir Soil and Water Protection District, a former Town of Hoosick Councilman, a former member and Commissioner’s Secretary of the Hoosick Fire Company and a 27 year member the Hill Country Cloggers, and active in several senior citizens clubs. He also enjoyed many bus trips with his wife and friends, western square dancing, camping and traveling with his family, and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brenenstuhl is survived by his three children, Clark P. Brenenstuhl of Hoosick Falls, Alma L. (Dominic) Palladino of Bennington, and Todd D. and Racquel (Schnakenberg) Brenenstuhl of Hoosick Falls, four grandchildren, Celeste M. Palladino and Paul B. Palladino of Bennington, and Breanne Schnakenberg and Braylin Brenenstuhl of Hoosick Falls and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls and a reception at the Hoosick Grange will follow. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions if desired, may be made to the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad, 21 First Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090 in memory of Omer C. Brenenstuhl.
