He was married 1st on April 3, 1878 in Davidson County to Martha Jane Hyde (1858-1883). He was married 2nd about 1885 to Lula B Henderson (1864-1935), the daughter of James T Samuel Henderson and Mattie (Renfro) Henderson (ca 1843-1908).
A farmer on at 802 Monroe Street, Nashville, he was 62 years old and married when he died at home of uremia on October 4, 1918. Burial was the next day in the "Family B G."
