Edwin O. "Dick" Brede, 89, died September 6, 2000 at Countryside Manor in Aviston.
He was born February 19, 1911 in New Baden, son of William and Louisea, nee Schrag, Brede, and they both preceded him in death.
He married Mata R Suhrheinrich on July 6, 1929, in Carlyle, and she died October 4, 1994.
Other precedents include daughters Sharlene Miley and Marjorie Brede, sister Pearl Gribler, and brother Harold Brede.
Surviving are Olive Ann (Bob) Wuebbels of New Baden; son-in-law Marilyn Miley of Cheney, Washington; grandchildren Stan (Pat) Haar, Tina (Charlie) Litteken, andBrenda (Charles) Van Meter; and great grandchildren Kathy, John, Kimberly and Joey Haar, and Tiffany and Brittany Van Meter.
Mr. Brede was a retired civil service carpenter at Scott Air Force Base and a member of New Baden United Methodist Church and New Baden Senior Citizens.
The funeral was Saturday, September 9 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, the Rev.Vincent Rohn officiating.Interment was in Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to New Baden Methodist Church or Family Hospice of Belleville and will be received through the funeral home.
