Bertha Kay Brazie, 70, of Battle Creek, passed away on June 11, 2011 at her home.

She was born on December 22, 1940, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Herbert and Caroline (Grinnell) McPeake Sr.

Bertha was employed by the Kellogg Company and retired after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. Bertha attended First Assembly of God for many years and most recently attended Faith Baptist Church. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at several area retirement homes including Cherry Hill Manor and Shady Pines. Bertha was a very caring and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was previously married to Lee Brazie Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Lee (Ludwien) Brazie Jr. of Battle Creek and Clyde (Sarah) Brazie of Hartford, and her daughter, Susan (Wesley) Wilson of Battle Creek. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers and sisters, Delcia Kelley, Dawn Blakney, Lynda Cochran, Herb McPeake Jr., Toni (McPeake) Ardis, John McPeake, Cheryl Deay, Linda Sue Adams, Mike Green and Scott Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary McPeake Sr. and Caroline Penney, her son, Charles Brazie, and her brother, Max McPeake.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Royal Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Baptist Church
