Born Oct. 25, 1946 in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Myrtle Head Horne. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Leonard S. Brazell, and son, Dan Brazell.
Mrs. Brazell was a lifelong resident of Camden County. She was a 1964 graduate of Camden County High School and graduate of Georgia Military College.
She wore many hats in her employment years. She was a forest tower outlook for several years, worked at Gilman Paper Company and Kraft Bag Division, was a teacher’s aide at St. Marys Elementary School, as well as a librarian at Trident Refit Facility (TRF) and the TRF coordinator for Camden County Schools.
Mrs. Brazell made Easter baskets for children all over town, and was a director and actress for the Camden Area Players and Camden High School theater group. She was an avid reader and artist and enjoyed doing all types of crafts. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Aeronautical Workers Union.
A loving sister, grandmother and aunt, she will be missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include her fiancee, Pat Betchik of St. Marys; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Ken Bailey of St. Marys; granddaughter, Kristie Brazell; and special niece, Kim Pope (Jim) and their children, Ashley and Cameron.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Brazell-Peeples Cemetery in Kingsland, with Pastor Steve Kegley officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
