Henry "Hank" Brausen, 82, Pierz, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at St. Mary`s Villa in Pierz. He was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Pierz, to Jacob and Frances (Wieling) Brausen. He married Eleanor Schnurrer on June 19, 1939, in Pierz. They farmed for 45 years in the Pierz area and moved to Pierz in September of 1989. He worked for Pierz Lumber and Supply. Survivors include a son, Larry Brausen, Pierz; seven daughters, Violet Bauer, Little Falls, Bernie Tschida, Brainerd, Karen Stangl, Pierz, Monica Kapsner, Pierz, Mardell Herman, Royalton, Roxi Yasgar, Sartell, and Brenda Luberts, Spicer; 31 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Math Brausen, Pierz. His wife, Eleanor, two grandchildren, three brothers, Ted Brausen, Pete Brausen and Reiny Brausen, and a sister, Alma Weiss, died earlier. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Brenny officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph`s Parish Cemetery.
