Mrs. Christy Braswell Allen, 47, of Crossett, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Allen was a native and life long resident of Crossett. She was a Home Health Aid and worked for the Ashley County Health Department for 17 years. She was a member of The River North Church and she had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and anyone else that needed her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Martin Braswell; her grandparents, Son & Christine Braswell; an uncle, Stormy Braswell; an aunt, Dixie Coleman and her mother-in-law, Ollie Belle Allen.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Allen of Crossett; two daughters, Amanda Allen Buchler and husband, George; Tricia Lofton and fiancé, Dan Wall, all of Crossett; her father, Casey Braswell of Graham, Texas; a brother, Gene Braswell and wife Julie; a sister, Carol Braswell all of Crossett; five grandchildren, Alexis Oliver, Isabelle Oliver, Mackenzie Jones, Kamryn Lofton and Shelby Buchler.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jerry Grant and Eddie Goodson officiating. Burial will be in the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Allen, Glen Watt, Len Oliver, Thomas Coleman, Bill Reynolds and David Stephenson. Honorary pallbearers are Dennie Polk, George Buchler and Dan Wall. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock, AR 72207.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
